The Lahaul Valley is a land of mystic mountains and ancient Buddhist monasteries (Gompas). These spiritual centers have stood for centuries, preserving the rich Tibetan-Buddhist culture and art.
Visiting these monasteries is a journey into silence, faith, and history.

1. Keylong and Kardang Monastery: Kardang is one of the most revered monasteries in Lahaul. Located across the Bhaga River from Keylong, it boasts a massive library of Kangyur and Tangyur volumes.
2. Guru Ghantal Monastery: Believed to be founded by Padmasambhava in the 8th century, it is the oldest Gompa in Lahaul. Unlike others, it has wooden idols instead of clay ones.
3. Shashur Monastery: Surrounded by blue pine trees, this monastery is famous for its large thangka paintings and the annual Cham dance festival.
